Painters must want
to paint above all else.
If the artist in front of the canvas
begins to wonder how much he will
sell it for, or what the critics will
think of it, he won't be able
to pursue original avenues.
Creative Achievements depend on
single-minded immersion.

Terra Firma - Turtle Crossing[1]
I've had a good life. I enjoy exploring and constantly learning. This has taken me many places and lead to many experiences. Apart from the basic philosophy expoused above, the other is: Don't say you don't like something unless you've tried it at least once.

[1] The Terra Firma album cover is where I came across this quote the first time. It was unattributed. The quote comes from Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, a researcher on creativity and flow. Try as I might, I can't find the actual source article or paper that the quote came from, just lots of references to Mihaly and this quote.
