This area contains links to all of the free software that is available from
The Virtual Light Company. Because we believe in the original foundations of the
Internet all this software is provided with source code. It is provided
under the
GNU Copyleft or
GNU Library Copyleft
to anybody that wants to make a buck out of it. Also, we hope it will demonstrate
to you the quality of the work that we are capable of.
Most of these projects are currently under development so you can see how things
are progressing.
The URN library is a replacement library for Java's java.net
package. Instead of limiting you in arbitrary ways like Java's in-built
system, you can extend the capabilities in many more ways. The main feature
is the ability to deal with Uniform Resource Names (URN) as well as URLs.
Tired of Java's poor support for image formats? Pissed off with the URL
connection returning something other than an image when the content type
is image/*?
This package handles a much larger variety of image formats and speaks the
right language of URLs. It complements the URN package as content handlers
or will work with the standard java.net package. Twice as
fast and using a quarter of the memory, this package is a must have.
A collection of common code for the system. These class libraries provide
property management, extensions to the standard java.util
classes and much more.
